The Album
More than a drum solo project — it's stories told through rhythm.

“Echochron” is the debut solo album by Berlin-based drummer and composer Julian Külpmann — a deeply personal musical statement that traces the rhythm of a life lived behind the kit.

The drums take center stage, not just as a rhythmic instrument but as a storyteller: intricate grooves, emotional textures, pure drum sound and raw energy.

About

Born in Hanover, Julian started playing drums at seven — and hasn't stopped since.

At 16 he enrolled at the University of Music Hanover while still at school and became drummer of the German Federal Jazz Orchestra, touring Europe and India. He continued his studies at the University of the Arts Berlin with John Hollenbeck, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Greg Cohen.

Since then he has toured and recorded with dozens of European jazz and pop artists, played Udo Lindenberg's “Hinterm Horizont” and productions at Theater des Westens. Today he lives in Berlin, playing jazz, pop and soul all over the world.
